Last year was our first year with Turf’s Up Lawn Service. We highly recommend their lawn treatment services. Every year our HOA has sent us a letter saying that we need to take care of our lawn. Thanks to Turfs Up we did not receive a letter last year!

Update Again! Turf's Up is really dedicated to keeping their customers happy! This spring (2025) I had a slight complaint about weeds and a few dead spots and asked Turf's Up to take a look. Dan, one of the owners, came out and walked the whole yard with me (3+ acres), identifying weeds and observing dead spots. Dan then proposed a complimentary additional weed treatment. Not only did Turf's Up do the weed treatment, they followed up with a complimentary aeration and re-seeding in areas of the lawn that needed it. I am very impressed with the extra effort Turf's Up has done to help me have a great lawn. Update: For 2024 I've asked Turf's Up to expand treatment to the whole yard. I saw good results, compared to a neighbor, and decided to go all in. I selected Turf's Up because I saw them working a neighbor's yard that I had admired. I purchased their 8-treatment plan for 2022 plus aeration and seeding in the fall. Because of the large size of our yard, I had them treat about 2/3 of it. The areas they treated and seeded are noticeably improved over the area that was not treated, so I am well pleased with the results. Additionally, I have called them several times to ask questions about the treatments and to identify certain weeds (now gone) that were causing problems. Randy and Dan have always been quick to respond, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I highly recommend Turf's Up. Oscar N. McNeil, Waterford, VA

Lawn Care Services in Yorkshire, VA

Turf’s Up brings full-service lawn treatment and care to Yorkshire homeowners through a year-round program that anchors every visit in its right purpose. Fertilization, weed and insect control, aeration, lime, disease management, and outdoor pest programs are all coordinated into one plan. Turf’s Up delivers expert lawn treatment to Yorkshire, VA properties, covering every service from pre-emergent weed control to core aeration and overseeding. Lock in your Yorkshire spot this season. Call Turf’s Up at (703) 740-9525 for a free estimate.

      Lawn Fertilization Service

Yorkshire’s cool-season fescue and bluegrass need consistent feeding to keep color, density, and stress tolerance through Northern Virginia’s weather swings. Our lawn fertilization service applies multiple treatments, timed to each phase of the grass growth cycle, so growth stays steady and root systems strengthen throughout the year. Most Yorkshire lawns see real improvement within the first two to three rounds on the program.

      Aeration and Overseeding

Compacted clay builds up across Yorkshire properties over years of foot traffic and mowing. Core aeration opens the soil so water and nutrients can reach the root zone effectively; overseeding with modern turf-type tall fescue brings stronger disease resistance and drought tolerance. Done together on the right schedule each year, the result is a thicker, more uniform lawn you’ll see in the following growing season.

      Lime Treatment

Acidic soil is common across Yorkshire neighborhoods, and even the best fertilizer underperforms when pH is off. Our lime treatment uses a pelletized product applied when soil chemistry is most receptive. Soil testing comes first so applications happen only when results call for them. Most Yorkshire lawns benefit from a maintenance application every two to three years, kept on a schedule that reflects what your soil actually reveals.

      Weed Control

The most effective lawn treatment for Yorkshire weed pressure starts before weeds appear. Our pre-emergent application stops crabgrass before it germinates, then post-emergent treatments handle dandelion, clover, nutsedge, and other broadleaf invaders as they emerge through the growing season. Products are matched to weeds actually present in your yard and applied at correct rates, so your fescue thickens while invasives disappear. Most Yorkshire lawns see a sharp drop in weed pressure within the first complete year.

      Lawn Insect Control

Grubs, sod webworms, chinch bugs, and billbugs damage Yorkshire lawns from below the surface, often invisibly until thinning patches appear. Our lawn insect control program runs preventive grub treatments before damage begins and curative applications when scouting reveals active feeding. Catching the insect cycle early across Prince William County protects every other investment in your fertilization and aeration program.

      Lawn Disease Control

Northern Virginia’s heat and humidity create reliable pressure for brown patch, dollar spot, and red thread on Yorkshire lawns. Our lawn disease control program applies preventive fungicides during the high-risk window and curative treatments when symptoms emerge. Combined with mowing-height guidance and watering recommendations, fungal flare-ups become rare. Lawn disease treatment is most effective when started before disease takes hold on your turf.

      Tree and Shrub Care

Oaks, hollies, dogwoods, and ornamentals across Yorkshire need their own dedicated program. Dormant oil applications knock down overwintering insect populations before they activate. Tree and shrub fertilization uses deep-root injection so nutrients reach absorbing roots, while tree and shrub insect control protects against bagworms, scale, lace bugs, and aphids. These ornamental programs are especially valuable on established Yorkshire landscapes where pest pressure stays consistent year after year.

      Perimeter Pest Control

Ants, spiders, stink bugs, and centipedes start showing up indoors whenever weather conditions change in Yorkshire. Our perimeter pest control services apply a barrier treatment around the foundation, garage doors, and entry points of your Yorkshire home, stopping pests before they get inside. Treatments are pet-safe once dry and scheduled to match Northern Virginia’s pest pressure cycles. Many Yorkshire homeowners bundle the program with lawn care for full property coverage.

      Mosquito Control

Yorkshire’s wooded lots, drainage areas, and humid conditions make mosquitoes a persistent issue through the warmer months. Our mosquito control program treats foliage where adults rest plus standing-water sites where larvae develop. Mosquito treatment for yard areas you actually use, including patios, play sets, and pool decks, brings immediate relief. With recurring treatments, families enjoy outdoor evenings without constant repellent throughout the active season.

      Flea, Tick, and Chigger Control

Tick exposure is a real concern across Yorkshire’s wooded borders, and chiggers thrive in tall grass, leaf litter, and pine straw. Our flea and tick control program targets the perimeters and shaded borders where these pests live, with treatments continuing throughout the active period. Outdoor chigger control breaks the cycle in mulched beds and ground cover. Pets and kids use the yard freely with much lower bite and tick-borne illness risk all year.

      Your Questions, Our Answers

      Turf's Up! Team

What professional lawn treatment and pest control services are available to homeowners in Yorkshire, VA?

Turf’s Up offers fertilization, weed control, aeration, overseeding, lime, lawn insect and disease control, tree and shrub care, perimeter pest, mosquito, flea and tick control, and chigger programs in Yorkshire, available as individual services or bundled annual plans.

How does Prince William County soil affect lawn treatment and fertilization needs in Yorkshire, VA?

Yorkshire soils trend clay-heavy and acidic. That combination compacts over time and limits nutrient uptake, which is why regular aeration, balanced year-round fertilization, and lime treatments when soil testing calls for them form the core of an effective Yorkshire program.

What are the most common lawn weeds and insects affecting properties in Yorkshire, VA?

Crabgrass, dandelion, clover, nutsedge, white grubs, chinch bugs, and sod webworms are most common. Pre-emergent weed control and preventive grub applications handle both before damage appears, while post-emergent treatments address anything that breaks through the season.

When is the best time to schedule lawn treatment for aeration and overseeding in Yorkshire, VA?

The optimal window is when soil temperatures are warm enough to support germination but air temperatures have moderated. Our team schedules aeration and overseeding at the right time for each property to get the best results from every application.

What mosquito and tick control treatments are available for properties in Yorkshire, VA?

Recurring mosquito treatments and tick-targeted perimeter applications run on a regular schedule through the active season. We focus on wooded edges, mulched beds, and the outdoor spaces families actually use, with adjustments based on conditions and pest pressure.

Is professional lawn disease control needed for Yorkshire, VA lawns?

For most properties, yes. Brown patch and dollar spot appear reliably whenever heat and humidity combine in Northern Virginia. Preventive fungicide applications during the high-risk window stop disease before it spreads, and curative treatments correct it quickly when symptoms emerge.

How do I schedule a free lawn treatment estimate for my home in Yorkshire, VA?

Call Turf’s Up at (703) 740-9525 or request a quote online. We’ll review your property, walk through goals, and send a written estimate with no pressure.
