Last year was our first year with Turf’s Up Lawn Service. We highly recommend their lawn treatment services. Every year our HOA has sent us a letter saying that we need to take care of our lawn. Thanks to Turfs Up we did not receive a letter last year!

Update Again! Turf's Up is really dedicated to keeping their customers happy! This spring (2025) I had a slight complaint about weeds and a few dead spots and asked Turf's Up to take a look. Dan, one of the owners, came out and walked the whole yard with me (3+ acres), identifying weeds and observing dead spots. Dan then proposed a complimentary additional weed treatment. Not only did Turf's Up do the weed treatment, they followed up with a complimentary aeration and re-seeding in areas of the lawn that needed it. I am very impressed with the extra effort Turf's Up has done to help me have a great lawn. Update: For 2024 I've asked Turf's Up to expand treatment to the whole yard. I saw good results, compared to a neighbor, and decided to go all in. I selected Turf's Up because I saw them working a neighbor's yard that I had admired. I purchased their 8-treatment plan for 2022 plus aeration and seeding in the fall. Because of the large size of our yard, I had them treat about 2/3 of it. The areas they treated and seeded are noticeably improved over the area that was not treated, so I am well pleased with the results. Additionally, I have called them several times to ask questions about the treatments and to identify certain weeds (now gone) that were causing problems. Randy and Dan have always been quick to respond, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I highly recommend Turf's Up. Oscar N. McNeil, Waterford, VA

Lawn Care Services in Sudley, VA

Turf’s Up brings full-service lawn care to Sudley homeowners through a year-round program that anchors every treatment in its right purpose. Fertilization, weed and insect control, aeration, lime, disease management, and outdoor pest programs are coordinated into one plan. Turf’s Up provides expert lawn disease control to Sudley, VA homeowners, with preventive fungicide applications during Northern Virginia’s high-risk windows and curative treatments when symptoms emerge. Our complete year-round program also covers fertilization, aeration, lime, weed control, and pest programs. Get your Sudley lawn protected this season. Call Turf’s Up at (703) 740-9525 for a free estimate.

      Lawn Fertilization Service

Sudley’s cool-season fescue and bluegrass need balanced feeding throughout the year, not a one-time application. Our lawn fertilization service runs multiple treatments,  so color stays steady, roots deepen, and your turf builds the density that crowds out weeds. Slow-release blends deliver nutrients at the right rate, and most Sudley lawns show clear improvement after the first full year on the program.

      Aeration and Overseeding

Compacted clay is common across Sudley properties, particularly on older lots with years of foot traffic and mowing. Core aeration relieves that compaction, opening the soil so water and nutrients reach the root zone. Pairing aeration with overseeding using turf-type tall fescue introduces stronger genetics and fills thin areas. Done together on the right schedule, the combination produces the most dramatic lawn improvement of the entire year.

      Lime Treatment

Sudley’s soils frequently trend acidic, which limits how well fertilizer can perform regardless of rate. Our lime treatment uses a pelletized product applied when soil chemistry is most receptive to adjustment. Soil testing comes first so we apply lime only when results show your lawn will actually benefit.

      Weed Control

Crabgrass, dandelion, clover, and nutsedge move quickly into thin or compacted Sudley lawns. Our weed control program combines a pre-emergent application that stops crabgrass before it germinates with targeted post-emergent treatments as weeds emerge through the growing season. Products are matched to the weeds actually present and applied at correct rates. Sudley lawns typically see a sharp reduction in weed pressure within the first complete year of the program.

      Lawn Insect Control

Grubs, sod webworms, chinch bugs, and billbugs damage Sudley lawns from below the surface, often invisibly until thinning patches appear. Our lawn insect control program runs preventive grub treatments before damage begins and curative applications when scouting confirms active feeding. Catching the insect cycle early in Prince William County is critical to protecting your fertilization and aeration investments throughout the year.

      Lawn Disease Control

Northern Virginia’s heat and humidity create reliable pressure for brown patch, dollar spot, and red thread on Sudley lawns. Our lawn disease control program applies preventive fungicides during the high-risk window and curative treatments when symptoms emerge. Preventive treatment is most effective when started before patches expand, so consistent monitoring is part of every visit on the program. Combined with mowing and watering guidance, most Sudley lawns avoid significant fungal damage even in the toughest years.

      Tree and Shrub Care

Mature oaks, hollies, dogwoods, and ornamentals across Sudley need their own dedicated program. Dormant oil applications knock down overwintering insect populations before they activate. Tree and shrub fertilization uses deep-root injection so nutrients reach absorbing roots, while tree and shrub insect control protects against bagworms, scale, lace bugs, and aphids. These ornamental programs keep Sudley landscapes healthy and looking their best year after year.

      Perimeter Pest Control

Spiders, ants, stink bugs, and centipedes find their way into Sudley homes throughout the year, especially when weather shifts. Our perimeter pest control services apply a treated barrier around the foundation, garage doors, and entry points so insects stay outside. Treatments are pet-safe once dry and scheduled on a recurring basis to match Northern Virginia’s pressure cycles. Many Sudley homeowners pair the program with lawn care for full property coverage.

      Mosquito Control

Wooded lots, low-lying areas, and Prince William County’s humid conditions drive heavy mosquito pressure across Sudley through the warmer months. Our mosquito control program treats foliage where adults rest plus standing-water sites where larvae develop. Mosquito treatment for yard spaces focuses on patios, decks, and shaded areas where Sudley families actually spend time. Recurring treatments keep pressure low throughout the active season.

      Flea, Tick, and Chigger Control

Tick exposure is a real concern across Sudley’s wooded edges through the warmer months, and chiggers thrive in tall grass, leaf litter, and pine straw. Our flea and tick control program targets the perimeters and shaded borders where these pests live, with treatments continuing throughout the active period. Outdoor chigger control breaks the cycle in mulched beds and ground cover. Pets and kids enjoy the yard with much lower bite and tick-borne illness risk all year.

      Your Questions, Our Answers

      Turf's Up! Team

What professional lawn care and pest control services are available to homeowners in Sudley, VA?

Turf’s Up offers fertilization, weed control, aeration, overseeding, lime, lawn insect and disease control, tree and shrub care, perimeter pest, mosquito, flea and tick control, and chigger programs in Sudley, available as individual services or bundled year-round plans.

What causes summer lawn disease on properties in Sudley, VA, and how can it be prevented?

Brown patch and dollar spot are most common, triggered by Northern Virginia’s heat and humidity. Preventive fungicide applications during the high-risk window, combined with proper mowing height and watering practices, stop disease before it spreads across Sudley lawns.

What are the most common weed and insect problems facing residential lawns in Sudley, VA?

Crabgrass, dandelion, clover, nutsedge, white grubs, chinch bugs, and sod webworms are most prevalent. Pre-emergent weed control and preventive grub applications handle both before damage appears, while post-emergent treatments address anything that breaks through.

When is the best time to schedule core aeration and overseeding for lawns in Sudley, VA?

The ideal window for cool-season lawns in Prince William County is during the transitional period when soil temperatures are warm enough for germination but air temperatures have moderated. Our team will schedule your aeration at the right time for your property.

What outdoor pests are most commonly a problem for residential properties in Sudley, VA?

Mosquitoes near low-lying areas, ticks along wooded edges, ants, spiders, and stink bugs at the home perimeter are most common. Our combined programs cover all of them with timing matched to Prince William County’s seasonal pest pressure.

Is professional lime treatment necessary for lawns in Sudley, VA?

For most properties, yes. Sudley soils trend acidic, and acidic pH limits how well fertilizer performs regardless of how much is applied. Soil testing confirms where your lawn stands, and lime applications correct the issue when results call for it.

How do I get a free lawn care and pest control estimate for my property in Sudley, VA?

Call Turf’s Up at (703) 740-9525 or request a quote online. We’ll review your property, walk through goals, and send a written estimate with no pressure. Pre-pay savings are available for early sign-ups.
