Last year was our first year with Turf’s Up Lawn Service. We highly recommend their lawn treatment services. Every year our HOA has sent us a letter saying that we need to take care of our lawn. Thanks to Turfs Up we did not receive a letter last year!

Update Again! Turf's Up is really dedicated to keeping their customers happy! This spring (2025) I had a slight complaint about weeds and a few dead spots and asked Turf's Up to take a look. Dan, one of the owners, came out and walked the whole yard with me (3+ acres), identifying weeds and observing dead spots. Dan then proposed a complimentary additional weed treatment. Not only did Turf's Up do the weed treatment, they followed up with a complimentary aeration and re-seeding in areas of the lawn that needed it. I am very impressed with the extra effort Turf's Up has done to help me have a great lawn. Update: For 2024 I've asked Turf's Up to expand treatment to the whole yard. I saw good results, compared to a neighbor, and decided to go all in. I selected Turf's Up because I saw them working a neighbor's yard that I had admired. I purchased their 8-treatment plan for 2022 plus aeration and seeding in the fall. Because of the large size of our yard, I had them treat about 2/3 of it. The areas they treated and seeded are noticeably improved over the area that was not treated, so I am well pleased with the results. Additionally, I have called them several times to ask questions about the treatments and to identify certain weeds (now gone) that were causing problems. Randy and Dan have always been quick to respond, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I highly recommend Turf's Up. Oscar N. McNeil, Waterford, VA

Lawn Care Services in Stone Ridge, VA

Turf’s Up provides full lawn care services to homeowners across Stone Ridge, VA, with a year-round program built to keep this growing Loudoun County community’s HOA-ready lawns healthy. Every application is timed to its purpose, from pre-emergent weed control to core aeration and overseeding, so your lawn gets the right treatment when it needs it most. Get your Stone Ridge lawn on a program that holds up all year. Call Turf’s Up at (703) 740-9525 for a free estimate.

      Lawn Fertilization Service

Stone Ridge’s cool-season fescue and bluegrass need balanced feeding throughout the year, not a one-time application. Our lawn fertilization service runs five to seven scheduled rounds timed to each phase of the grass growth cycle, so color stays steady, roots deepen, and your turf builds the density that crowds out weeds. Slow-release blends deliver nutrients without pushing weak top-growth, and most Stone Ridge lawns show clear improvement after the first full year on the program.

      Aeration and Overseeding

Compacted clay is common across Stone Ridge properties, particularly on lots with regular foot or pet traffic. Core aeration relieves that compaction, opening the soil so water and nutrients can reach the root zone. Pairing aeration with overseeding using turf-type tall fescue introduces stronger genetics, fills thin spots, and produces a denser lawn you’ll notice by the following growing season. Booking ahead matters since aeration slots fill up quickly.

      Lime Treatment

Many Stone Ridge soils run acidic, which limits how well fertilizer can perform regardless of rate or timing. Our lime treatment uses a pelletized product applied when soil chemistry is most receptive to adjustment. Soil testing comes first so applications happen only when results call for them.

      Weed Control

Crabgrass, dandelion, clover, and nutsedge are the most persistent weeds in Stone Ridge yards. Our weed control program combines a pre-emergent application that stops crabgrass before it germinates with targeted post-emergent treatments as invasive weeds emerge through the growing season. Products match the weeds actually present and are applied at correct rates, so your fescue thickens up while invasives disappear. Most Stone Ridge lawns experience dramatic improvement within the first full year.

      Lawn Insect Control

Grubs, sod webworms, and chinch bugs damage Stone Ridge lawns from below, often before symptoms become visible. Our lawn insect control program runs preventive grub treatments before damage begins and curative applications when scouting confirms active feeding. Stopping the insect cycle early protects the fertilization, aeration, and overseeding investments you’ve already made in your turf.

      Lawn Disease Control

Northern Virginia’s heat and humidity create reliable pressure for brown patch, dollar spot, and red thread on Stone Ridge lawns. Our lawn disease control program applies preventive fungicides during the high-risk window and curative treatments when symptoms appear. Preventive treatment is far more effective when started before disease takes hold. With proper mowing and watering guidance included, most Stone Ridge lawns avoid significant fungal damage even in the worst years.

      Tree and Shrub Care

Mature trees and foundation shrubs across Stone Ridge need their own dedicated program. Dormant soil applications knock down overwintering insect populations before they activate in the growing season. Tree and shrub fertilization uses deep-root injection so nutrients reach absorbing roots, while tree and shrub insect control protects against bagworms, scale, lace bugs, and aphids. These programs are especially valuable for cherries, hollies, and dogwoods common across Stone Ridge landscapes.

      Perimeter Pest Control

Spiders, ants, stink bugs, and centipedes head indoors whenever weather conditions shift in Stone Ridge. Our perimeter pest control services apply a treated barrier around the foundation, doors, garage, and entry points of your home so insects stay outside. Treatments are pet-safe once dry and scheduled to match Northern Virginia’s pest pressure cycles. Many Stone Ridge homeowners bundle the program with lawn care for full property coverage and a single point of contact.

      Mosquito Control

Stone Ridge’s retention ponds, drainage features, and humid summers drive heavy mosquito pressure through the warmer months. Our mosquito control program treats foliage where adult mosquitoes rest plus breeding sites where larvae develop. Mosquito treatment for yard areas focuses on patios, decks, play sets, and the outdoor spaces families actually spend time in. Recurring treatments keep pressure low through the active season and restore enjoyable evenings without constant repellent.

      Flea, Tick, and Chigger Control

Wooded common areas, mulched beds, and shaded yards create tick and chigger habitat across Stone Ridge. Our flea and tick control program treats yards with targeted applications focused on the borders and shaded zones these pests prefer, continuing throughout the active months. Outdoor chigger control breaks the cycle in pine straw, leaf litter, and ground-cover plantings. Pets and kids enjoy the yard with much lower bite risk throughout the year.

      Your Questions, Our Answers

      Turf's Up! Team

What lawn care and pest control services are available to homeowners in Stone Ridge, VA?

Turf’s Up offers fertilization, weed control, aeration, overseeding, lime, lawn insect and disease control, tree and shrub care, perimeter pest, mosquito, flea and tick control, and chigger programs in Stone Ridge, available as individual services or bundled annual plans.

How can a professional lawn care program help Stone Ridge, VA residents maintain HOA-compliant yards year-round?

Most Stone Ridge HOAs expect a clean, weed-free, well-fertilized lawn. Our year-round program is built to meet that standard with minimal homeowner effort, keeping treatments on a consistent schedule so your yard holds up through every weather cycle.

What are the most common weed and insect problems affecting lawns throughout Stone Ridge, VA?

Crabgrass, dandelion, clover, nutsedge, white grubs, sod webworms, and chinch bugs are most common. Pre-emergent weed control and preventive grub applications handle both before damage appears, while post-emergent treatments address anything that breaks through.

What mosquito and tick control options are recommended for families with outdoor living spaces in Stone Ridge, VA?

Recurring mosquito treatments and tick-targeted perimeter applications run on a regular schedule through the active season. Treatments focus on the spaces families actually use so you reclaim patios, play areas, and yard space without constant bites or repellent.

Is professional core aeration and overseeding recommended for the clay-heavy soil common in Stone Ridge, VA?

Yes. Annual core aeration paired with overseeding using modern turf-type tall fescue dramatically improves Stone Ridge lawns, especially properties with compacted clay. Most homes show clear improvement the following growing season after a complete first-year program.

How can homeowners in Stone Ridge, VA schedule a free lawn care and pest control estimate?
